Goats on surfboards. Not something you see everyday. Unless you visit Surfing Goats Dairy on Maui, that is.
Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park UNESCO World Heritage Site is a spectacular place. Not least because of the dramatic end to Chain of Craters Road.
During a visit to Pu’uhonau o Hōnaunau National Historic Park on the Big Island of Hawai’i, we got chance to watch and talk to local Hawaiian craftsman and historian, Kihe da Silva.
OK, so it wasn’t me catching the waves. But these surfers were incredible to watch!
Only once before have I got so close to wild dolphins. And that was also in Hawaii, and we were in the water with them!
So there we were on Maui, doing a geocache, minding our own business. Then Sue looks over the cliff and spots heads bobbing around in the surf!
The Byodo-In Buddhist Temple in Hawaii may only be a replica of a 950-year-old building in Japan, but its location is spectacular.
