Rich is the fingertips behind everything associated with Jaspa’s Journey.
He was born in Wales in 1969 and developed a fascination in geography, history and the environment at an early age. His extended academic career included a PhD from the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom) and a post-doctorate at the University of Waterloo (Canada).
In 2000, Rich accepted a position as an environmental scientist in Weimar (Germany), at a research station of the renowned Senckenberg Institute. During his four years in Weimar, on a return visit to Waterloo, he was introduced to Sue. I met both of them at about the same time.
When Rich and Sue got married and moved back to Canada at the beginning of 2004, I came with them. Since then, when we’re not all actually travelling together (see the Travel and Gallery pages of my website), Rich and I spend our days writing books and blogs about my adventures.
It’s a Journey we both hope will continue for many years to come.
